-->No, the prices shown are for the boat no matter how many people you bring out to have an awesome day catching fish! The only thing else you have to pay for is a Costa Rica fishing license which last one month, cost 13 bucks, and are bought on the peir the day of the trip. Sometimes the people who sell the licenses don't show up, and in that case you won't need to buy a license.
Why are you so much cheaper than similar boats in Quepos?-->Lots of reasons. First and foremost, we charge less because we love to fish and when we charge less we get to go more often. Another reason is this is an owner run boat and website so you aren't paying any agenciy fees you pay when book from other websites. Why pay 20% more to go through an agency? Also, brand new motors burn less fuel than older motors and our motor is the most modern motor in Quepos. Captain John enjoys mechanics almost as much as fishing and the motor and mechanical aspects of the boat are always kept in new condition. If you want to go with a crew who is just as excited about fishing (or maybe even more excited) as you are, then you have found the right boat!
What is included in the prices?
-->Included in the price isthe boat with Captain and Mate (Mate is there just to help you fish),lunch (chicken or hamburgers right off our the grill), fresh fruits, colddrinks (beer-soda--tea-water), bait, and an unforgettable time!
Are the waters rough offshore?
-->From November toApril the waters offshore are comparable to a small lake. From Aprilto October, they get a little more choppy, but usually not toobad.
What electronics do you have on the boat?
-->We have amarine VHF radio, Furuno 24 mile radar, 2010 Furuno Sonar with fish measuring ability (it tells me in inches how big the fish are under the boat), and a FurunoGPS Chartplotter with all central american maps. We also have a pair of stabilized binoculars to help us find schools of Tuna, birds and floating debris out to 4-6 miles!
What is the best time of the year to fish?
-->In Quepos, there is always something in season. For sailfish the best time of the year is December through April (but caught year round), Marlin season is April through October, Dorado season, October, November and December. There are always big fish to catch, making all trips awesome and enjoyable!

February-April 2011-2012

Billfish season is here! January through April is when all the sailfish and Marlin come out and we are so looking forward to some awesome billfish action! This year we have tons of new tricks in addition to the old ones so we should have some great numbers! In addition to the Top of the line Furuno Sonar, and all new Penn Reels, I just got some High Powered stabilized binoculars. These are the ones that can spot birds at 5-6 miles, and if you shake them, the picture in them doesn't move. They look like something out of a Star Wars Movie and I expect to find lots of birds, floating debris and most importantly FINS! We also installed about 8000 dollars in sound and vibration reducing equipment and this should be our best year yet! We should really start seeing some good Dorado action from October to January, landing quite a few of the big bulls. We'll have the spinning gear ready for those fisherman who are really looking for a crazy fight. For those of you who like pulling up big fish from way down below, the bottom fishing should stay really awesome as well with quite a few Amberjacks and Snapper coming out each trip. With the new gear, we should also be able to spot Yellow Fins from way off, so I expect to be getting quite a bit more Tuna Action! Inshore we now will use a smaller boat with captain Jerry. last year in high season, Jerry really cleaned up the Roosterfish with his largest being 80 pounds and his most released were 11 large ones. In addition, we have quite a few areas that will be great to throw poppers to hit those snappes on top! Inshore should also come with the occasional Jack, Spanish Mackeral and Barracuda bite. High season is finally here, and we are already 50% booked so make sure to reserve your days quick before we fill up!
Let us help you find the best deal on a nice hotel here on the water. We have something for everyone, include budget but clean hotels, all the the way to the Mariposa sitting up on the cliff overlooking the ocean. We can do luxury cliff top house rentals as well, just let us know! For more pictures go to our Hotel page!

I live here and listen to past customers and view everything first hand to make sure everything is first class and there are no surprises! Also, Costa Rica is the safest country in Latin America, and with us guiding your vacation, you can experience the very best parts of this amazing country. As if the awesome beach just 5 minutes from the dock isn't enough reason to fall in love with Costa Rica, you could always visit other parts of this small but amazing country as well. You could check out Volcano Arenal, which is very active and has multiple hot water resorts at the base, or MonteVerde, a cloud forest with zip lines, the best ATV trips on Earth, and massive suspension bridges. Closer to Quepos, there are amazing White Water Rafting tours, and horseback trails, waterfalls and more! I absolutely love questions, and even if you are just kicking tires or writing a paper for school, ask me anything at all about Costa Rica and I'll point you in the right direction! I have visited just about everywhere in the country at this point, and I'd love to share my experiences. Be careful though, after only one good trip here, I packed up the family and made the move. Who knows, maybe once you get here, you just won't want to leave:)
Giving you the best fishing experience for your dollar, providing a top notch experience at both inshore and offshore fishing sportfishing in Costa Rica. We are very centrally located in the Manuel Anotnio / Quepos area of Puntarenas Costa Rica, only 45 minutes South of the Los Suenos sportfishing marina in Herradura / Jaco. We are also a short 30 minute drive from most of the Exquisite Vacation Homes located in the Dominical, Uvita, and Whale's Tale areas. We specialize in offering World class sportfishing for billfish species including sailfish, black marlin, blue marlin, and striped marlin. Other sportfish species that we go after are Dorado, (aka dolphin, Mahi Mahi) yellowfin tuna, amberjack, snapper, and rooster fish.
Costa Rica Fishing
Costa Rica is one of the premier places in the world not only to fish but to vacation. Boasting Several different climate types from cloud forests, volcanoes, and many tropical beaches, there is something for everyone here. On the Pacific side, there are an abundance of Marlin and Sailfish. On the Atlantic side there are tons of Tarpon. We are located and focus on the Marlin Sportfishing on the Pacific side of the country.
Quepos Fishing
Quepos is one of the premier fishing spots in Costa Rica. Located in the dead center of the Pacific coast, it gives us access to fish various fishing grounds, including the same fishing grounds fished by Los Suenos and Dominical. Also protected by two large peninsulas, The water in front of Quepos is also the calmest water in Costa RIca, with wave heights rarely measuring over 3 feet. Great for first time fisherman, or fisherman who don't like to go home with bruises:)
Quepos Sportfishing / Charter Boats
Quepos has a pretty nice charter fleet. There are about 35 charter boats that are fishing in Quepos, about half of those are well maintained with good captains. If you are looking for a smaller or bigger boat, I am friends with almost everybody here and I can give you my discounted "agency" price on any charter boat fishing in Quepos. That price is usually similar to the price I offer the public on personal charter boat (for a simliar sized boat).
Manuel Anotnio Hotels
Quepos is the town that is located next to Manuel Anotnio park and beaches, which are the most sought after beaches in Cosat Rica. Low currents, clear water, great fishing, and cliff dwelling-ocean view hotels make this an unforgettable place to stay. Hotel prices are on par or lower than most average American hotels, but with a much nicer views!
Costa Rica Sportfishing
Costa Rica doesn't have fishing seasons and limits like the US, but that doesn't mean we can kill everything we hook. We release all billfish unless they come in dead (1 per year), that includes releasing both sailfish and Marlin. We are allowed to keep other gamefish though, and finding either a Mahi, Yellow Fin Tuna, Amberjack or Snapper for dinner is almost always a possibility.
About Quepos Fishing Adventures
Unlike most websites in Google, we are not a booking agency. I own and drive the boat, so you are communicating directly with the captain of the trip, not someone upselling a friends boat to make a quick buck. Even if you don't book here, always book directly with the boat owner to get the best prices. Ask the person you talk with if they will be driving the boat. If they say no, they probably don't own it.
